Sallie Sweeney
A veteran cybersecurity executive, Sallie Sweeney has nearly 30 years of experience in cybersecurity program delivery, solution architecture and business development. Currently, Ms. Sweeney is Executive Vice President of Cybersecurity at 9th Way Insignia. She is responsible for all cybersecurity operations and leading the cybersecurity growth strategy for the company. Previously, Ms. Sweeney served as Leidos’ Health and Civil Cybersecurity Capability Lead, spearheading Zero Trust Architecture implementation for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, and creating unique offerings securing operational technology (OT) ecosystems. At KPMG, Sallie built a portfolio of new business at CMS, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Space Force, the State of North Carolina and NIWC-LANT. Sallie was tapped to lead KPMG’s Charleston, SC market expansion. Ms. Sweeney was selected as a 2022 KPMG Award of Distinction recipient, the highest honor for a KPMG employee. For GDIT, Sallie was the Health Sector’s Director of Information Security, responsible for securing all Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) contracts, totaling over $1B in total contract revenue. She ascended to GDIT’s Homeland, Health and Civilian Division as the Principal Cybersecurity Architect for GDIT’s Top 10 opportunities ($100M+). Ms. Sweeney’s early career positions include her appointment as Apprio’s first Chief Information Security Officer, the first Information Security Officer for the Baltimore County, MD Government, Radio Deployment Coordinator for the Ricochet wireless network and Service Coordinator for Teligent, Inc. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and is a CISSP, ISSMP, CISM, and PMP.
Ms. Sweeney was elected to the CDCA Board of Directors in 2023 and is currently Co-Chair of the Public Relations Committee. She was elected to the St. Catherine’s School Board of Governors in July 2024 and serves on the Technology Advisory Board for Stevenson University. She served as an Executive member of the Board of Trustees at Notre Dame Preparatory School (Technology Chair). Ms. Sweeney is a published author and regular speaker.
